Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque Review:

I was attracted to this product mainly because it has been known to shrink enlarged pores and because it’s not harsh on your skin. I had yet to find a mask that actually does something. Hearing good things, I bought Queen Helene’s Mint Julep Masque. After I began using Obagi’s Clenziderm system, I have fallen in love with the feeling of mint on my face! With this mask, you get that cool, refreshing feel that leaves your skin smooth and soft.

You want to start off with a freshly cleaned face. This mask dries fairly quick. The Mint Julep Masque is green in color and has a clay-like consistency – I love that! You want to be generous with the amount applied. For the bottom of my face, I applied about a quarter size amount on my hands, and spread over my cheeks, chin, nose and upper lip area. Apply about a nickel size amount to your forehead, temples and t-zone area. Let sit for 15 minutes. The mask begins to harden and turn a light shade of green. The mint is very refreshing!

Wash face with warm water and pat dry. As soon as I removed the mask, I noticed my face was silky smooth. I could tell that my pores had dramatically shrunk. Any blackheads on my nose were gone! One use. If you suffer from getting blackheads, you will have success with Queen Helene’s Mint Julep Masque – give it a few tries and you will see results. If you easily get dry, apply Emu Oil or another great moisturizer afterward. In reviewing this product, I will definitely continue using this product mainly because I was so happy with how much my pores shrank. I, being prone to acne, need a good product to shrink my pores to keep oil and bacteria out. Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque is also a great spot treatment! You can use it on your face, chest, back etc.

Aspirin Mask

I wanted my aspirin mask to be easy enough that I would have all of the ingredients on hand at all times.

To make the mask, place 3-4 non-coated aspirin tablets into a small dish. Add three to four drops of water to bowl to create a grainy paste. Add about 1-2 tsp. of honey to create a spreadable consistency. (Can add any healing cream). I add Neosporin about once a week when I remember. Rub mixture onto face in circular motions scrubbing lightly. Leave mask on for 15 to 30 minutes. Immediately after you rinse you will notice your skin to be much smoother and softer. It helps a lot with speeding up the healing process. Make sure to lightly moisturize afterward as this is a very drying mask.

The aspirin mask should usually be used three days per week. I have oily/combination skin and this was perfect for me. If you have extremely oily skin, you could probably get away with everyday until your acne shows good improvement. Than you would want to cut back to three days per week. This is such a blessing when I have to deal with cluster acne around my chin area. My favorite “side effect” is that it helps reduce redness as well. I noticed my acne already clearing up after day two of use. Who knew that something that can take away my headache can cure pimples!
